Privacy and control
A narrow path from your microphone to your text.
Audio is sent over HTTPS to Dictozy's backend for transcription. The backend calls xAI Speech-to-Text; the extension never calls xAI directly and never contains the provider API key.

- Password, payment, hidden, disabled, readonly, file, checkbox, and radio fields are ignored.
- Browsing history, existing field contents, and surrounding page content are not sent to the backend.
- The extension and backend application do not intentionally persist raw audio or transcripts.

Recognition quality can vary with microphone quality, background noise, pronunciation and speaking clarity, browser or device behavior, and the availability and performance of the transcription service.

When does Dictozy request microphone access?
Only after you click the visible microphone button or press your assigned shortcut while a supported field is focused.
Which fields can I use?
Dictozy supports common text fields, textareas, and supported editable fields. Password, payment, hidden, disabled, readonly, and other sensitive or unsupported fields are ignored.
What if the keyboard shortcut is already in use?
Open Chrome's extension shortcut settings from the Dictozy popup, then assign another available shortcut.
How are audio and transcripts handled?
