Recording starts only after your click or assigned shortcut.
Dictozy for Chrome
Voice dictation for Chrome, right where you write.
Use your voice for short messages, notes, searches, and form text in supported web fields. Start from the visible microphone or your assigned shortcut, then receive the transcript at your caret.
Free to install. No account required.
How it works
From your voice to the field in three steps.
Dictozy is designed around the field you already selected, so there is no separate editor or transcript history to manage.
-
Focus a supported field
Choose a normal input, textarea, supported rich-text field, or editable ARIA textbox.
-
Start and stop clearly
Use the visible microphone button or your assigned shortcut, then stop whenever you are done.
-
Continue writing
Dictozy inserts the returned plain text at the intended caret or selection.

Everyday controls
Set it once, adjust it when you need to.
Keep Dictozy available globally or disable it for one exact website. Choose language formatting, review the assigned shortcut, set a short recording limit, and check backend availability from Advanced settings.
- Per-site choices stay in local Chrome extension storage.
- Retry and cancel controls keep failed work actionable.
- Language selection guides written formatting; it does not guarantee recognition accuracy.
Privacy and control
A narrow path from your microphone to your text.
Audio is sent over HTTPS to Dictozy's backend for transcription. The backend calls xAI Speech-to-Text; the extension never calls xAI directly and never contains the provider API key.
Read the privacy policy- Recording begins only after the microphone button is clicked or the assigned shortcut is pressed.
- Password, payment, hidden, disabled, readonly, file, checkbox, and radio fields are ignored.
- Browsing history, existing field contents, and surrounding page content are not sent to the backend.
- The extension and backend application do not intentionally persist raw audio or transcripts.
Compatibility
Made for short text on supported Chrome pages.
Where it works
- Text, search, email, URL, and telephone inputs.
- Textareas and supported contenteditable fields.
- ARIA textboxes that are actually editable.
- Fields added dynamically after a page loads.
What to expect
- Chrome on supported HTTPS webpages.
- An internet connection and an available transcription backend.
- Short dictation clips rather than long-form recording.
- Some complex editors may not behave like standard fields.
